Day 1: Favorite Character
I first watched Fairy Tail in Filipino TV airing, so I wasn’t able to watch much episodes of Fairy Tail, although I did see the first episode (out of topic: I love Lucy’s Filipino voice actress, she’s just as good as Hirano Aya when portraying Lucy). So, that, there were times that I could not watch the episode next to the episode I watched. And there was that time that the day I watched FT again was when Lucy and Natsu saw Gray, and I was pretty surprised that Lucy already knew him, so I thought, maybe the previous episode was when he was being introduced.
He really caught my eye that time, but I didn’t pay that much attention since I wasn’t really interested in Fairy Tail before. But even so, I already thought that time that I might like him more than Natsu, ‘coz I’m into characters who are usually cool (literally and not) and mysterious (I don’t think he’s that mysterious).
But years later (uhh, a year, maybe? I think Fairy Tail aired here in the Philippines in 2011), I had this urge to watch Fairy Tail, one reason is Uchiyama Kouki being one of the voice actors of the characters (which I explained on my post before).
The time I had him as my favorite character was that episode during the Cursed Island/Galuna Island/Deliora arc. I think Gray was also my first FT post. I was really surprised when he cried. Well, it’s rare to see those cool people crying (one of them is Laxus), and I never, never, never thought that Gray would have such scene.
It’s a bit hard to explain but, you see, there are tons of things that were running through my mind that time, like, I thought he’d just sit there, play cool and say nothing until the whole arc is over, but noooo. Even in front of Natsu, he cried.
All in all, Gray is like, someone who’d surprise you by giving you a different response to what you were expecting of him.
And maybe, that’s one of the reasons why I love Gray.
And oh, his ice. Don’t forget that I love his ice. And his undressing habit. LOL. ♥.♥
Day 3: Your favorite female seiyuu
I actually never thought that I’d like Kugimiya Rie. The first character I heard her voice from was Imai Hotaru of Gakuen Alice, and that time, I thought she has a really good voice, although I loved Kana Ueda more than her before.
And then, there was Bleach. The moment I saw her name labelled as Kurosaki Karin’s VA, I was like “What the- really?!”, and I guess I was just too shocked about the fact that the soft-spoken Imai can actually be Karin, who is a bit tomboyish.
That’s not the where the story ends. The time I decided that she is my favorite was that time when I watched Gintama. I was like, Greeeaaattt, I fell in love with her and I knew right then and there that she really is a great voice actress.
Who would have thought that she could manipulate her voice anyway? I mean, look, it’s really necessary for voice actors/actresses to play with their voice, and I love those seiyuu who make me say ‘Really? That person voices that character?! I never would have imagined that!’, but I admit that there are some seiyuu that can easily be determined by the way they speak, and Rie isn’t one of them.
Then there’s Happy of Fairy Tail.
Thinking back to where I started watching anime that Rie belonged to, I am still wondering how in the world she managed to make her voice small, big and so on.
Maybe someday, if I watch a new anime, I’d never be able to tell again that she’s one of the casts.
Day 4: Anime you’re ashamed you enjoyed
Well, I think I should not pay more attention in this one. Once and for all, I was, am and will never be ashamed of those anime I’ve watched, I’m watching or I will watch.
And! I will never ever be ashamed of anime I actually enjoyed, unless this one question pertains to, uhh, well, some really suggestive themes.
Sure I did say that there are some anime that disappointed me with its ending, but I will never be ashamed of the fact that I did watch those.
Fairy Tail’s ending song, Kimi ga Iru Kara by Shimokawa Mikuni
One of my favorite songs. :D
Day 3: Your anime crush
Before, I thought villains were supposed to be ugly and ill-mannered. But not this guy. I mean, NEVER.
Although Hiiragizawa Eriol is the prime antagonist of Card Captor Sakura’s second season, I knew I fell in love with this guy.
It isn’t everyday to encounter a villain who’s very gentle and cunning at the same time. You see, I have this hots for mysterious guys. You know, like they seem to be affiliated with some mafia or bad#$% group. It didn’t help either that he is a mage, a silent person and (here comes my obsession) a guy who wears eyeglasses. I just have a thing for them.
It’s like, you know, Eriol is perfect in every aspect! He’s cool and he amuses me whenever he would act all too innocent in front of Sakura when in reality, he was really scheming something.
That side of him.
In fact, I actually made a fiction of him (not really centered, but about him) and Tomoyo. I ship them. >.<
So well, EriTomo is another thing. ;)
